The Not-Self Strategies of Your 9 Human Design Energy Centers vs. True Self Knowing

Updated: Mar 9

Your Not-Self Mind will always try to convince you that you have to work against your nature to be fulfilled and successful. Always.

In fact, the mind is so powerful that it prevents people from even recognizing that they are out of alignment in the first place. It keeps you unable to see that there could be a more satisfying way to experience this life as their authentic self. The mind is afraid of what you will learn.

Afraid because, once you know, it will be your choice whether to continue to do things the way you have been and letting your mind be in absolute control. Telling you that you need to emulate those you have been taught are "successful" by society's standards. Or you can choose to start following your Strategy and Authority as you choose to shift towards living as your true self.

Instead of following your authentic Strategy and honoring your inner Authority, you follow Not Self Strategies. And the Not-Self Strategies of the 9 Human Design Centers can get you results, which reinforces the mind's acceptance of them. However, they also bring resistance, frustration, bitterness, and disappointment along the way. And the results you achieve when out of alignment can take you further down a path that isn't ideal for your true self and your energetic life purpose, which makes it harder and harder to course correct.

Examples of Making Decisions using Not Self Strategies:

Undefined/Open Head Center

Not-Self Strategy: I have to do something to figure out the answer to every question and be free of the pressure.

True Self Knowing: I know which questions are for me and which are not.

Undefined/Open Ajna Center

Not-Self Strategy: I have to do something to show that I am certain.

True Self Knowing: I know that I can see many viewpoints, perspectives and it is okay to stay fluid and embrace this flexibility.

Undefined/Open Throat Center

Not-Self Strategy: I have to do something to attract attention.

True Self Knowing: I know when the right opportunity is to speak, and and when not to, to truly be recognized and heard.

Undefined/Open G-Center

Not-Self Strategy: I have to do something to find love and direction.

True Self Knowing: I know that I am here to be flexible in my sense of self and direction and don't attempt to define myself.

Undefined/Open Heart Center

Not-Self Strategy: I have to do something to prove myself worthy.

True Self Knowing: I know that I don't have to push or prove anything to be worthy and don't make promises to myself or others.

Undefined Sacral Center

Not-Self Strategy: I have to do something to keep going and get the work done.

True Self Knowing: I know when enough is enough and prioritize my energy and rest to avoid burnout.

Undefined/Open Emotional Center

Not-Self Strategy: I have to do something to avoid this truth and possible confrontation.

True Self Knowing: I know when to avoid things and when not to and I speak my truth without fear of the reactions of others.

Undefined/Open Spleen Center

Not-Self Strategy: I have to do something to make sure I feel protected, safe, and secure.

True Self Knowing: I know what is healthy for me to hold on to and when it is healthier for me to let go as I embrace my intuition.

Undefined/Open Root Center

Not-Self Strategy: I have to do something to get this accomplished quickly and be free of the pressure.

True Self Knowing: I know when to be in a hurry and when not to and use adrenaline energy wisely.

In reality, I didn't start learning about my unique energetics and how to align with them when I was hustling and "killing it.; successfully running my own real estate company and making multiple 6 figures. I started learning about it after I had completely burned out, became physically ill, and was experiencing (yet another) "dark night of the soul".

That is why I mentor you on how you were created to thrive in life, business, and relationships. My hope for all of you is that you learn to accept the gifts you have been given and lean into those instead of forcing yourself to swim upstream against a cascading current.
